The three winners of the scholarship sponsored by the “tecnologia e passione club”

The awards ceremony is scheduled for Friday, 10th May at the headquarters of the Industrialists’ Association of the Province of Lucca

THREE MORE young engineers rewarded by the Tecnologia e Passione Club. They are the winners of the second scholarship competition promoted and financed by the Club in collaboration with the University of Pisa and reserved for recent graduates from Italian engineering faculties. The three finalists, not in ranking order (which will be disclosed during the ceremony) are Gian Marco Guiduzzi from Cesena, a degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Bologna with a thesis on quality control in packaging systems; Riccardo Paladini from Bagni di Lucca, a degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Pisa with a thesis related to the field of paper and tissue; and Gabriele Pescaglini from Lucca, a degree in Management Engineering from the University of Pisa with a thesis on optimizing industrial performance, it too in reference to the paper and tissue field.


The three finalists were chosen by a special committee nominated by the Dean of the University of Pisa’s Engineering Faculty, comprised of two faculty professors, Gino Dini and Luca Fanucci, and by Alessandro Mennucci, engineer and component of the Tecnologia e Passione Club’s Board of Directors as well as CEO of the lucchese company Toscotec. On Friday, 10th May at the offices of the Industrialists’ Association of Lucca and in the presence of the Club’s members and representatives from the business community and from the institutions, the three young engineers will receive a monetary prize of 3,000, 1,500 and 1,000 euro for first, second and third ranking, respectively. A small reception at the Assindustria Lucca association premises will follow the ceremony.


In addition to the final classification, the initiative promoted by the Club also gave participants the opportunity to be contacted by some of the member companies interested in the themes elaborated in the theses.


The Tecnologia e Passione Club, headquartered in the Palazzo di Vetro - Fondazione Giuseppe Lazzareschi of Porcari, whose main mission is to disseminate passion for innovation and for technology, fostering the exchange of ideas, training and growth, is not new to such initiatives. Last year, through the same modalities, it rewarded three more new engineering graduates and offered company internships to deserving youngsters. Besides annually organizing the Premio per l’Innovazione Tecnologia e Passione award, occasions to meet together, orientation days for young students, workshops and technical days, the Club is also involved in charity & fundraising activities, supplying support to needy social institutions chosen by the steering committee.
