ICT Group announced today that it is considering a new investment for its ICT Poland mill located in the town of Kostrzyn, just 90 km east of Berlin.
The investment would comprise of a new 70.000 TPY tissue machine, additional converting equipment, and necessary logistic and civil infrastructure.
At present, ICT Poland has just under 400 employees and produces 140.000 TPY of finished products. Because of its “world class” operations, ICT Poland is often cited as one of the most modern and efficient tissue plants in the world. Since September 2010, the plant also includes a highly efficient, fully automatic warehouse necessary for stocking and shipping of its high quality finished products.
The new machine would eventually be an addition to ICT Poland’s first two tissue machines stated in 2001 and 2008. The future site would therefore need additional personnel to operate the three full width tissue machines and the fully integrated converting hall downstream.
The ICT Group is presently evaluating several investment options in different countries. However, should the decision for the investment finally fall on Poland, start-up date for the new machine is estimated to be in 3Q of 2015
ICT Group is headquartered in Lucca, Italy, and has production companies in Italy, Spain, Poland and France. The current combined capacity is approximately 470.000 TPY and employees approximately 1300 persons.
